While Panama has its own currency, US dollars are used freely in Panama no conversion or exchange needed. Note you may receive Panamanian Balboas as change- these are equivalent to USD.

Uber is readily available in Panama City.

Panama's international airport is about a 30 minute car ride from Casco Viejo, you will pass through metropolitan Panama City on your way. Though at rush hour this may take closer than an hour.

"Casco Viejo" is the small colonial neighborhood within metropolitan Panama City, not to be confused with "Panama Viejo". We encourage guests to book accommodations within Casco Viejo as it is easy to explore on foot. Alternatively you can stay in other neighborhoods such as Punta Pacifica or Costa Del Este- these are less touristy, but may take 45-60 minutes to get to the venue pending traffic.

When you depart Panama to return home note that you will have to undergo a second full security check at the gate- you will have to discard any liquids you are carrying with you, so enjoy your beverages before heading to the gate.
